Brand partnerships are one of the most common ways that creators make money. And while I always emphasize the importance of diversifying your income because brand deals aren’t always reliable, they’re still a huge part of every creator’s business, so it’s important to know how you can build relationships with brands that lead to authentic partnerships.

Today, we’re diving into how in my years of being a content creator, I’ve managed to work with brands and earn over $400k.

🛍️TikTok rolls out “Identify Similar Products” option for creators in TikTok Shop

  • As you go to post your video, you will see in the “More options” area, that you will be able to toggle on/off the “identify similar products” option. This will “allow items similar to the ones in your video to be identified so users can access them in TikTok Shop”

🎵 TikTok is removing even more Universal Music Group music

  • TikTok says that up to 30% of its “popular songs” may be lost

  • The app previously removed music performed by UMG artists

  • According to BBC, “This means that videos featuring songs by artists such as Harry Styles and Adele, who have written with Universal-signed artists, could soon be muted.”

  • But some industry estimates say up to 80% of all music on TikTok could be muted.

🎞️ Instagram adds “Profile Display” option for Reels

  • Previously, you used to be able to post Reels on only the Reels tab but at some point (for me, at least) that option was no longer available

  • Now, Instagram is introducing a new “Profile Display” option where you can choose to share your reel to “Main grid and Reels grid” OR “Reels grid only”
